Lesson Policies and Procedures
Lesson Scheduling:
-
Lessons are 30 min in length and given weekly on a regular weekly half hour time spot based on the student’s availability and the availability of the teacher.
-
Students may change their regular time spot whenever they wish. Time changes are subject to teacher availability.
Tuition:
-
We offer three tiers of tuition:
-
1. Individual Lesson: $33/session (Must be paid in full 48 hours prior to reservation)
-
Weekly Recurring Lesson: $28/session
-
Two or More Weekly Recurring Lessons: $26/session (Can be applied to a single student or multiple students of the same family)
-
-
Tuition is due on or before the 1st of every month.
-
A $10 late fee will be assessed on the 12th of the month.
-
Late tuition must be paid in full before the student receives his/her lesson. Teachers reserve the right to refuse to provide service if the students tuition is late.
Attendance and Make Up Lessons:
-
Students are expected to arrive at their scheduled lesson times each week with their required materials.
-
Students arriving late for lessons will be given the remainder of their scheduled lesson time.
-
There are no credits or refunds given for missed lessons. Once you are booked on the weekly schedule, you cannot skip weeks and roll the lesson credits into the next month’s tuition. No exceptions.
-
If the student needs to miss a lesson for any reason, please cancel the lesson as soon as possible through the student portal. We will issue a makeup credit that can be used to reschedule the lesson for a different time/day within the same week or register for an additional lesson at a later date/time of your choosing.
-
You may cancel through the portal up to 4 hours before the lesson time. If you miss the 4-hour window, please call the school and we will issue a makeup credit.
-
Makeup credits expire after 120 days.
-
Once a make-up lesson has been scheduled, no additional lesson will be offered if the student cancels the scheduled make-up lesson for any reason.
-
You may not use a makeup credit for a regularly scheduled weekly lesson. Makeup credits are used for lessons given in addition to your regularly scheduled weekly lesson.
-
If the student fails to notify the teacher of an absence, the student will be charged for that lesson and no makeup will be given. No exceptions.
-
If the student wishes to discontinue lessons, the student must notify the school at least one week in advance of their last lesson so that we may use that time to schedule other students.
-
If a student discontinues lessons, any makeup credits are forfeited.
Teacher Absence/National Holidays:
-
If the teacher must miss a scheduled lesson for any reason or if a scheduled lesson falls on a holiday, the teacher will attempt to reschedule the lesson based on the availability of the student. If the teacher is unable to reschedule the lesson, the student will be given a credit for that lesson applied to the following month’s tuition.
-
Westgate Music School is closed on the following holidays: Christmas Eve/Day, New Years Eve/Day, Thanksgiving Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Memorial Day.
Food/Drink:
-
